Image Gutiérrez, Diego He is a filmmaker, visual artist, and photographer, and is currently a member of the National System of Art Creators, in Mexico. He has participated in three editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) and he has received several awards around the world. He participated in the 3rd FICM with his documentary Las canciones del valle de los perros (2005). He won a Special Mention at the 10th FICM, a Fipresci Prize for Best Documentary at the 44th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TIFF) and the Golden Calf for Best Documentary at the 33th Netherlands Film Festival for his documentary Partes de una familia / Parts of a Family (2012). His feature length documentary Sporen (2014), co-directed by Danniel Danniel, won a Special Mention at the 12th FICM. Other Movies Mexico will no longer exist! A frenetic view runs over a convulsed Mexico City, a colossal metropolis sustained by the myth of "mestizaje" and other colonial forms of violence. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. As a teenager, Ziuta weathered exile with fortitude and determination, saving her mother and other relatives from perishing in their flight. With a Super-8 camera that once belonged to his father and has remained untouched for 41 years, he plans to retrace the path of the shepherd: the journey of transhumance that his grandfather undertook in his youth, following now-forgotten coordinates. The result is a film that delights in the search —as well as the many detours along the way.
