En agosto de 2012, Carlos se graduó del programa de Escritura para Cine y Televisión de Vancouver Film School. En 2015, Producciones a Ciegas obtuvo el presupuesto para producir la primera película de Carlos, "Verónica", un filme de suspenso psico-sexual con influencia de Hitchcock fotografiado en blanco y negro, que Carlos co-dirigió con su compañero Alejandro Martínez-Beltrán y fue seleccionada para competir en una variedad de festivales de cine, incluyendo el Montréal World Film Festival, el Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara y el Festival de Cine Iberoamericano de Huelva (este último le otorgó a Carlos y Alejandro el premio al Mejor Director Nuevo en 2017.)
