“Sometimes the most horrible things can be aesthetic,” says the legendary photographer Micha Bar-Am. His work has focused on chronicling 60 years of Israeli history, especially local ethnic tensions and armed conflicts. Among other events, he documented Eichmann’s trial and the Yom Kippur War, granting him a profound awareness of photography’s importance in shaping collective memory.
