Forum of Indigenous Peoples

The Forum of Indigenous Peoples of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) was created in 2007 to explore the film narratives proposed by Indigenous filmmakers in different circumstances and contexts. Over the past few years, we have had the opportunity to welcome filmmakers from various regions to Morelia. Our aim has always been to incorporate their unique perspectives into the discussions and collective reflections on cinematic images that FICM supports and fosters.

The forum consistently supports filmmakers by increasing the visibility of their work and creating training opportunities to help develop their projects. This platform grows and improves with each festival edition, showcasing a wide range of film ideas from Indigenous filmmakers in our regions.
