Image Pineda; Samantha Dirección Estudió Ciencias de la Comunicación y Realización de Cine en el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Ciudad de México; Cine y Literatura en la Universidad de Essex, Colchester, Inglaterra; asistió a un taller de producción documental en la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión (EICTV), en San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, y cursó el Advanced Diploma of Screen con especialidad en guión y dirección en la International Film School Sydney (IFSS), Australia. En 2004, su cortometraje 2 treinta y cinco pm, fue seleccionado en el Festival de Cine Internacional de la Mujer, en México; de ahí le seguirán los trabajos Yo soyTico (2008), ChocolateCandy (2010). En 2009 fue reconocida por la prensa australiana como una de las directoras mexicanas a seguir. En 2012 presentó El pescador en la Selección Oficial del 9º FICM y obtuvo una Mención Especial, también fue nominado al Ariel como Mejor Cortometraje de Ficción y seleccionado en más 45 festivales internacionales como la Muestra Internacional de Cine en Hong Kong y el Chicago Latino International Film Festival. Posteriormente, en 2013, el Toronto Urban Film Festival seleccionó su trabajo Luminoso; en 2015 participó la Berlinale Talents de la edición número 31 del Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara. En 2016, Ascensión, su primer cortometraje animado, fue seleccionado en la 14º edición del FICM, en el Macabro International Film Festival y Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de México- Shorts México. Actualmente trabaja en la posproducción de Happiness, su más reciente trabajo, y en la realización de su ópera prima, Pequeño suicidio, cuyo guión fue seleccionado en el Oaxaca Screenwriting Lab y el Jóvenes Creadores del FONCA.
