Ha realizado la fotografía de diversos proyectos, entre ellos, el cortometraje Al fondo (2012) de Pablo Giles, que se presentó en seis festivales alrededor del mundo; el cortometraje Paradisio (2013) de Rodrigo Ruiz Patterson, que se presentó en ocho festivales nacionales e internacionales, entre ellos, el 11° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM); y el cortometraje Perdona nuestras ofensas (2013) de Israel Ahumada, que se presentó en más de quince festivales alrededor del mundo y obtuvo los premios a Mejor Cortometraje de Ficción y Mejor Actuación Femenina en la 1a entrega de los Premios 360 a Realizadores Independientes, México. Actualmente se encuentra en proceso de post-producción del documental Dejar la piel de Israel Ahumada, proyecto que obtuvo el Premio Doculatente del Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía (IMCINE) en el DocuLab.6 del 29° Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG), México. Dejar la piel participó en el IDFA Academy del 27° International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), Países Bajos, y en el 11° International Pitching Market del 17° Festival Internacional de Cine Guanajuato (GIFF, por sus siglas en inglés), México. Argel Ahumada de Mendoza también participa en la realización de los cortometrajes Fausto en la oscuridad de Israel Ahumada y Los tiempos de Héctor de Ariel Gutiérrez. Su cortometraje documental Benny (2015) fue parte de la Selección Oficial del 13° FICM.
