Se ha formado de manera autodidacta en periodismo, investigación, escritura de guión, realización, edición y producción de documentales. Su obra ha recorrido más de diez muestras y festivales alrededor del mundo, entre ellas, dos ediciones del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). Obtuvo el Primer Premio del Club Primera Plana de México, en 1999, por su cortometraje documental Niños por la paz (1998), y el Premio Nacional de Periodismo José Pagés Llergo por su largometraje documental Los tres siglos de Mariana Frenk-Westheim (2004). Participó, con su largometraje documental Flor en otomí (2012), en el 10º FICM, en el 27º Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG) y en el 26º Festival Internacional de Programas Audiovisuales (FIPA), Biarritz, Francia, entre otros. Obtuvo, por esta obra, el premio a Mejor Documental en la categoría Movimientos Sociales en el 17º Encuentro Hispanoamericano de Cine y Video Documental Independiente Contra el Silencio Todas las Voces, México; el premio a Mejor Largometraje Documental Mexicano en el 15º Festival Internacional de Cine de Guanajuato (GIFF por sus siglas en inglés); y el Premio del Público en el 3er Festival Internacional de Cine de Derechos Humanos: Testigo, México. En el 11º FICM se realizó una presentación especial de su largometraje documental Javier Sicilia. En la soledad del otro (2013), seleccionado en el 30º Festival de Cine Latino de Chicago y ganador de una Mención Honorífica en la categoría Movimientos Sociales del 8º Encuentro Contra el Silencio Todas las Voces, México. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult.
