Image Robles; Andrea She studied communication at the Jesuit University of Guadalajara (ITESO, in Spanish) and received a master’s degree in Transmedia: Art, Media and Design at Hogeschool Sint-Lukas, Brussels. In 2002, she and Adriana Bravo created the animated creative duo Doble A. She received the Young Creators Grant from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) during the period 2004-2005. She has presented her work at more than 20 international film screenings, festivals, galleries and museums, including three editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). In co-direction with Adriana Bravo, she participated with the animated short films, Anatomía de una mariposa (2004) in the 2nd FICM, Microftalmia (2005) in the 4th FICM and El Fish (2008) in the 6th FICM. The last film was also shown at the 1stAnimasivo, Contemporary Animation Forum, Mexico City. Her video installation Instantes (2009) has been presented at the contemporary art biennale SIART in La Paz, Bolivia, in 2009, and in Monterrey in 2009 and 2010; at the Multimedia Center of the National Center for the Arts (CENART), in 2010; and “El Chopo” University Museum, Mexico City. At the 6th Animasivo she presented Long Live Supernatural (2013), her live cinema on the history of experimental animation. Other Movies Mexico will no longer exist! A frenetic view runs over a convulsed Mexico City, a colossal metropolis sustained by the myth of "mestizaje" and other colonial forms of violence. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. This is an erratic film that invites us to reimagine the complex relationship we have with the constructed “mexicanidad.” See More Ziuta travesías Ziuta, a Polish Jewish survivor of World War II, was an extraordinary woman who sparked special devotion for her political commitment and her support for clandestine struggle. As a teenager, Ziuta weathered exile with fortitude and determination, saving her mother and other relatives from perishing in their flight. With a Super-8 camera that once belonged to his father and has remained untouched for 41 years, he plans to retrace the path of the shepherd: the journey of transhumance that his grandfather undertook in his youth, following now-forgotten coordinates. The result is a film that delights in the search —as well as the many detours along the way.
