Robles; Andrea

She studied communication at the Jesuit University of Guadalajara (ITESO, in Spanish) and received a master’s degree in Transmedia: Art, Media and Design at Hogeschool Sint-Lukas, Brussels. In 2002, she and Adriana Bravo created the animated creative duo Doble A. She received the Young Creators Grant from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) during the period 2004-2005. She has presented her work at more than 20 international film screenings, festivals, galleries and museums, including three editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). In co-direction with Adriana Bravo,  she participated with the animated short films, Anatomía de una mariposa (2004) in the 2nd FICM, Microftalmia (2005) in the 4th FICM and El Fish (2008) in the 6th FICM. The last film was also shown at the 1stAnimasivo, Contemporary Animation Forum, Mexico City. Her video installation Instantes (2009) has been presented at the contemporary art biennale SIART in La Paz, Bolivia, in 2009, and in Monterrey in 2009 and 2010; at the Multimedia Center of the National Center for the Arts (CENART), in 2010; and “El Chopo” University Museum, Mexico City. At the 6th Animasivo she presented Long Live Supernatural (2013), her live cinema on the history of experimental animation.
