Her work has been shown at numerous film festivals around the world, including three editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). She participated in the 6th FICM with her first feature film, Intimidades de Shakespeare y Víctor Hugo (2008), for which she received, among other prizes, the Best Picture and Audience Award at the 10th Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI), Argentina; a Special Jury Mention and Special Audience Award at the 5th Punto de Vista International Documentary Film Festival of Navarra, Spain; a Film Critics Award at the 23rd Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF, in French), Switzerland; Best Documentary at the 12th Film Festival of Lima PUCP, Peru; and the Ariel Award for Best First Film at the 51st Ariel Awards, Mexico. She competed at the 9th FICM with her second feature film, Paraísos Artificiales (2011), made with the support of the TFI Documentary Fund 2009, of the Tribeca Film Institute (TFI), New York; of the Promotion Program and Cultural Co-Investments of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) 2010, Mexico; and of the Hubert Bals Fund (HBF) of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), Netherlands, among others. Her third feature film Fogo (2012) was part of the Official Selection of the 10th FICM and of the 44th Directors’ Fortnight, a parallel section, at the 65th Cannes Film Festival, France. This film was made during the Arts Residency Program run by the Fogo Island Art Corporation, Canada, with a grant from the Fund for Quality Film Production (FOPROCINE), in 2011.
