Maria is asked, at the height of her career, to perform in a revival of the play that made her famous twenty years before. Back then, she played the role of Sigrid, an alluring and ambitious young woman who drives her older boss, Helena, to suicide. Now, she must step into the the role of Helena while a Hollywood starlet with a penchant for scandal is to take on the role of Sigrid. Maria finds herself on the other side of the mirror.
