The FBI Director has died. Despite obvious qualifications, Special Agent Mark Felt is not appointed as his successor; instead, he is named Associate Director. The White House keeps him on an ever-tightening leash—especially when the Watergate scandal erupts. Seeing no other recourse, Felt begins leaking information to Washington Post writer Bob Woodward, placing himself in danger and changing the course of history.
