On his fall from heaven to hell, Lucifer goes through the village in Mexico where Lupita and her granddaughter, María, live. Lupita’s brother, Emanuel, pretends he’s paralyzed so that he can drink and gamble while the two women tend to the sheep. Lucifer sees the chance to play the miraculous healer. He forces Emanuel to walk again, seduces María, and makes Lupita doubt her faith, drawing a clear line between good and evil where before there was none.

Inspired by the tradition of direct cinema, the documentary takes us from New York to a Tsotsil Mayan village, introducing us to various dimensions of migration. See More

Mexico will no longer exist!

¡Aoquic iez in Mexico! ¡Ya México no existirá más!

A frenetic view runs over a convulsed Mexico City, a colossal metropolis sustained by the myth of "mestizaje" and other colonial forms of violence. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. This is an erratic film that invites us to reimagine the complex relationship we have with the constructed “mexicanidad.”
