Behind the walls of a gloomy mansion on New York’s swanky fifth Avenue, there hides a torture chamber, where the evil Victoria Brett has locked away her sister, Carolina, until she has lost her mind. Years later, Victoria tries to do the same with her stepbrother’s fiancée. (Actresses Mary Morris and Anne Revere take up their theatrical roles as Victoria and the gentle sister Caroline in this movie adaptation of the stage play.)
