René Vidal, a director in decline, proposes to do a remake of the film Les Vampires, by Louis Feuillade. Convinced that no French actress can compare with Musidora as Irma Vep, he hires an actress from Hong Kong. Little by little chaos takes over the set and the film turns into a project almost impossible to finish. How can the uncontainable conflicts among those making the film be overcome?
