Two sisters love to hate each other; their stepbrother and his new wife get caught in the middle. This dysfunctional family will experience a life-changing summer. Traumatic incidents from the past, present conflicts, horror-manga, and a bloody family feud are all part of this passionate drama. Sumika, an aspiring actress, returns from Tokyo to her rural hometown in order to attend her parents´ funeral. Upon Sumika´s return, her younger sister, Kiyomi, seems strangely afraid of her. Shinji, the older stepbrother, is keeping a secret from his wife, Machiko, whom he wed in an arranged marriage. Sumika, bored in her hometown, kills time by writing fan letters to an up-and-coming film director and asking him to cast her in his latest film. Kiyomi is a talented manga artist, but she must stay away from drawing, as this is what caused the whole conflict between siblings in the first place. Each member of the family tries to find the meaning of life and of love in their own way. Will they succeed

Mexico will no longer exist!

¡Aoquic iez in Mexico! ¡Ya México no existirá más!

A frenetic view runs over a convulsed Mexico City, a colossal metropolis sustained by the myth of "mestizaje" and other colonial forms of violence. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. This is an erratic film that invites us to reimagine the complex relationship we have with the constructed “mexicanidad.”
