2010 | Color | 100 min It is the last decade of the 18th century in New Spain. Mexico City is inhabited by local and European residents. In this context, Jerónimo Marani, the court’s choreographer, Giovanni, his mestizo son, and Victoria, daughter of the wealthiest family of the city and madly in love with Giovanni, live a life of love and hate, intrigues, ancient dogmas and dreams of freedom. The Mexican War of Independence is just a few years away. Laura is a young freelance writer who only leaves her apartment to go shopping. She is an inveterate optimistic who insists on seeing positive situations where there is nothing but dead-end streets. While she eats directly from a can she talks with her mother and describes to her the delicious food she claims to be eating. She also tells her that she is very close to her neighbors, who don’t even know she exists. Although her life is dominated by lies, cruel reality sets in. Mexico will no longer exist! A frenetic view runs over a convulsed Mexico City, a colossal metropolis sustained by the myth of "mestizaje" and other colonial forms of violence. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. This is an erratic film that invites us to reimagine the complex relationship we have with the constructed “mexicanidad.” See More
Ziuta travesías Ziuta, a Polish Jewish survivor of World War II, was an extraordinary woman who sparked special devotion for her political commitment and her support for clandestine struggle. As a teenager, Ziuta weathered exile with fortitude and determination, saving her mother and other relatives from perishing in their flight. Despite the horrors and scarcity she endured, she upheld a grateful outlook on life. See More

With a Super-8 camera that once belonged to his father and has remained untouched for 41 years, he plans to retrace the path of the shepherd: the journey of transhumance that his grandfather undertook in his youth, following now-forgotten coordinates.
