In the conservative society of Guadalajara, Doña Herlinda does everything possible to ignore the relationship between her son Rodolfo and his friend Ramón, whom she treats as a second child. Under pressure from his mother, Rodolfo marries to Olga, but his relationship with Ramón continues. By chance, Doña Herlinda’s household settles into a state of curious harmony.
