During the 1970s, two teenagers, Gilles and Christine, live outside Paris. Their parents are divorced and their family lives are very unstable. After running away from home, they decide to go south, where they hope to join an artist commune. On the way, they run into a wild all-night party -- a bonfire, drugs, rock and roll. As the party winds down, Gilles and Christine will decide on the gradually different paths their lives will take.
