An intimate portrait of a family fighting to stay together,Circo describes a particularly hard aspect of rural Mexican life. Faced with the country’s collapsing rural economy, the family circus troupe must decide if it should continue the century-old family tradition or adapt to a different kind of life. This “road movie” presents the opportunity to know first hand the world of the circus, while examining universal themes like family ties, generational divide and the weight of cultural inheritance.
