Carmín wants to go and live with her mother in the capital, but her dream is crushed when her mother moves to the United States with her new husband. Struggling with puberty, she is forced to stay in her small town with her grandmother, a tough, conservative woman. The arrival of her father, who has been in jail for years, makes Carmín’s life even more uncomfortable. Now she has to learn how to live between abandonment and care; between desire and love.

Mexico will no longer exist!

¡Aoquic iez in Mexico! ¡Ya México no existirá más!

A frenetic view runs over a convulsed Mexico City, a colossal metropolis sustained by the myth of "mestizaje" and other colonial forms of violence. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. This is an erratic film that invites us to reimagine the complex relationship we have with the constructed “mexicanidad.”
