Aningaaq, an Inuit fisherman camping on the ice over a frozen fjord, talks through a two-way radio with an astronaut who is stranded in space, 500 kilometers above earth, and dying from a lack of oxygen. Even though he doesn’t speak English and she doesn’t speak Greenlandic, they manage to have a conversation about dogs, babies, life and death.

One year in the lives of Molly and Diego. Molly is a 21-year-old American who spent all summer in Mexico City studying Spanish. Diego is a 14-year-old city boy that is dying to have his cousin. Summer ends and Molly returns to New York. As autumn arrives, Diego discovers his grandfather has cancer and must be operated; his mother must rent a room in the house to help with the expenses of the operation. When Molly returns to Mexico in the winter, she rents the room. Molly and Diego meet. Diego´s feelings for his cousin are thwarted with his new obsession for Molly.
