Su primer filme Complicidades (2000), fue presentado en la sección de mediometrajes del Festival de Cine de la Ciudad de México. En 2009, presentó su ópera prima Crónicas chilangas, filme que recorrió diversos festivales en el mundo como la Havana Film Festival, en New York; el Festival Internacional de Cine de Varsovia; el Chicago Latino Film Festival; el Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano en la Habana, Cuba; el Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG); entre otros, y ganadora de los reconocimientos Diosa de Plata a la Mejor Ópera Prima y Mejor Musica Original; Premio Manuel Barba al Mejor Guión; el Premio Mayahuel a Mejor Ópera Prima, Mejor Guión y Mejor Actor; además, fue parte de la preselección al Golden Globe Award en el rubro Mejor Película Extranjera. Su último largometraje, Minezota (2016), fue ganador de Impulso Morelia, un programa de apoyo para la posproducción, y es parte de la Selección Oficial del 14º FICM.
