Image Borealis; Sarah Dirección, Guión, Producción Estudió la licenciatura en Literatura y Estudios de Latinoamérica, una maestría en Estudios de Latinoamérica y un doctorado en Historia de Latinoamérica, en la Universidad de Tulane, Nueva Orleáns, Luisiana, Estados Unidos. Dentro de su trabajo de investigación y publicaciones académicas, se encuentra una antología visual de fotos, Mexico: Stencil: Propa (2008), donde documenta la expresión de arte político (esténcil) realizado por artistas anónimos en las calles de Oaxaca y de la Ciudad de México, así como el artículo “Santa Muerte Profile”, en 2012, de The World Religions & Spirituality Project (WRSP) por parte de Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Estados Unidos. Su obra cinematográfica ha recorrido más de 10 muestras, festivales, museos y coloquios académicos alrededor del mundo. Participó, con su cortometraje documental, en co-dirección con Neyda Paredes, El día primero: Santa Muerte en el barrio de Tepito (2011), en el 1er Ethnografilm Festival, París, y en el Odgen Museum of Southern Art, Nueva Orleáns, Luisiana, en 2012, entre otros. Su cortometraje documental, en co-dirección con Arturo Juárez Aguilar, Jeuh kieh a jm hm kahun / El sendero del caldo de piedra (2013), forma parte de la Selección Oficial del 12º Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). Esta obra ganó el premio al Mejor Guión de Cortometraje en el 4º Bangalore Shorts Film Festival (BSFF), India, y ha participado, además, en el 2º Mpumalanga Short Film Festival (MSFF), Sudáfrica; en el 26º Encuentro Cinelatino de Toulouse, Francia; en el 17º Cine Las Americas International Film Festival, Austin, Texas; en el 8º Encuentro Hispanoamericano de Cine y Video Documental Independiente Contra el Silencio Todas las Voces México; y en el DocuLab.4 en el marco del 27º Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG), entre otros.
