Obtuvo, entre otras becas y apoyos, la Beca Jóvenes Creadores del Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes (FONCA) en 2000, y obtuvo el apoyo del 10° Concurso Nacional de Proyectos de Cortometraje del Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía (IMCINE) en 2010. Fue ganador en el 6° Taller de Perfeccionamiento de Guión de Largometraje Alejandro Galindo y formó parte del Encuentro de Proyectos Cinematográficos en Desarrollo: Nuevas Miradas, en el marco del 34° Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, La Habana, Cuba. Ha participado con su obra en dos ediciones del Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM). En el 6° FICM compitió con su cortometraje de ficción En la luz del sol brillante (2008), que se presentó además en el 20° Festival Internacional de Cortometraje de SãoPaulo, Brasil; en el 13° Out Takes: A Reel Queer Film Festival, Nueva Zelanda; y en el 24° Festival de Cine Gay y Lésbico de Torino (TGLFF por sus siglas en inglés), Italia, entre otros. En el 9° FICM participó con su cortometraje de ficción Vendaval (2011), que se presentó también en el 54° Festival Internacional de Cine Documental y Cortometraje de Bilbao, España, y en el 16° Festival de Cine de Lima, Perú. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult.
