Estudió la licenciatura en Comunicación en la Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA), México. Su ópera prima Oveja negra (2009) se presentó en más de diez festivales alrededor del mundo y obtuvo el Premio del Público y el premio FIPRESCI a la mejor ópera prima en el 24° Festival Internacional de Cine en Guadalajara (FICG). Su película I Hate Love (2012) ganó el Premio del Público en el 10° Festival Internacional de Cine de Morelia (FICM) y se presentó en el Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, en el Festival Internacional de Cine Panamá 2014 y el Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, entre otros. En 2016 estrenó su tercer largometraje Paraíso perdido, y la serie de televisión La hermandad, protagonizada y producida por Paz Vega y Manolo Cardona. Su más reciente proyecto, Camino a Marte, se estrenará en 2017.

This is an erratic film that invites us to reimagine the complex relationship we have with the constructed “mexicanidad.”

Ziuta, a Polish Jewish survivor of World War II, was an extraordinary woman who sparked special devotion for her political commitment and her support for clandestine struggle. As a teenager, Ziuta weathered exile with fortitude and determination, saving her mother and other relatives from perishing in their flight. Despite the horrors and scarcity she endured, she upheld a grateful outlook on life.

With a Super-8 camera that once belonged to his father and has remained untouched for 41 years, he plans to retrace the path of the shepherd: the journey of transhumance that his grandfather undertook in his youth, following now-forgotten coordinates. The result is a film that delights in the search —as well as the many detours along the way.
