Guillermo del Toro presented short films from the Les Gobelins school, at the 15th FICM

The filmmaker Guillermo del Toro presented at the 15th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) a screening of animated shorts from the Les Gobelins school in Paris, with Alejandro Ramírez, president of FICM, and Daniela Michel, general director of the festival, as well as the director of International Relations of the school, Cécile Blondel.

"All my life I wanted to do animation, I have produced independently. I do not have the patience to do it, but I have the patience for critique," said del Toro.

Concerned about encouraging animation in Mexico, the director promoted, together with FICM, a scholarship program to study at the Les Gobelins school.

"First it will be for five years, two students; then another five years, four students, and we are going to finance it because we saw all the government and we thought 'we'll do it ourselves'," said the filmmaker to applause.

The Mexican recognized the work of Les Gobelins and emphasized: "The important thing is that there is an incentive for people who make animation so that they somewhere to look."
