A Tour of the Photographic Exhibition ISMAEL RODRÍGUEZ, UN CINEASTA A.T.M.! at the 22nd FICM

Héctor Orozco, curator for Fundación Televisa, and Daniela Michel, founder and general director of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), led the inaugural tour of the photo exhibit Ismael Rodríguez, un cineasta A.T.M., as part of the 22nd edition of the festival.

The exhibit, located at the Andador Benito Juárez in Morelia's historic center and open to the public, is comprised of stills and posters from the prolific filmography of Ismael Rodríguez, one of the leading filmmakers of the Golden Age of Mexican cinema.

Before the tour, Héctor Orozco said that Ismael Rodríguez's films built a cinematographic culture in Mexico. “He is a filmmaker that we all share as part of our culture,” he commented, “a truly daring filmmaker of national cinematography.”

The curator also emphasized that these open-air photographic exhibitions that traditionally happen during FICM, in alliance with Fundación Televisa, “help connect the people of Morelia with the festival.”

Daniela Michel thanked Fundación Televisa for bringing the public closer to classic Mexican cinema and preserving film memory.

The Ismael Rodríguez, un cineasta A.T.M.! exhibition is part of the 22nd FICM's tribute to the director of films such as Los tres García (1946), Nosotros los pobres (1947) and Dos tipos de cuidado (1953).
