Monarcas, el gran viaje a los bosques naranjas, directed by Sophie Roy, was presented at the 22nd edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). The screening was attended by Oscar del Cueto, president of CPKC, and Daniela Michel, founder and general director of FICM.

Monarcas, el gran viaje a los bosques naranjas is the heartwarming story of Patrick, a brave and lovable but inept one-winged butterfly who hides in a milkweed trailer for the ride of his life, from Canada to the oyamel forests of Mexico. With his best friend, a silly caterpillar named Marty, and Jennifer, a butterfly afraid of heights, Patrick becomes an unexpected hero.

Before the screening, Óscar del Cueto spoke about some of the efforts CPKC is making to support the preservation of the Monarch Butterfly, such as planting 60 thousand trees during 2024, and 30 thousand more in 2025: “We are planting milkweed, so that they can feed, and oyamel trees so that they can rest”.

Daniela Michel thanked CPKC for the support it has given FICM for 14 years: "The festival would not be possible without the support of this great ally for so many years."
