The Second Edition of the Fénix Week is Presented

From the 1st to the 10th of December, the second edition of the Fénix Week will be held within the fourth instalment of the Fénix Ibero-American Film Awards, which will take place on December 6th at the Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris.

Screenings of nominated films, outdoor performances, academic activities and workshops make up this week's program dedicated to Ibero-American cinema.

The screenings will be held at Cinépolis Diana, Cinépolis Oasis Coyoacán, Cineteca Nacional, Cine Tonalá (Roma and Tijuana), Digital Culture Center, Tamayo Museum and Casa Wabi. The nominated titles are:

In addition, there will be two free screenings at the Angela Peralta Theater of the winners of the 2016 Fenix Prize, in the Documentary and Fiction categories: Tempestad (director Tatiana Huezo, Mexico, 2016) on Friday, December 1, and Neruda (dir. Pablo Larraín, Chile, 2016) on Saturday, December 2.

Within the academic activities, there will be a talk with art directors and costume designers and another with documentalists, which is part of the Gatopardo Talks. A discussion will also be offered between different film critics entitled "The role of film critics in the Netflix and Facebook era". The academic activities of the Fénix Week are open to the public and subject to space availability.

Fénix Awards will present various activities open to the public during the Market, Industry, Cinema and Audiovisual 2017 (MICA), an event that will take place from 7 to 10 December at the Cineteca National.

At the same time, Ecocinema will screen the films that participated in previous editions of the Fénix Awards in public squares in Morelos, Veracruz, Estado de Mexico and Mexico City.
