Image Villalba García, Alejandra She studied Communication at the the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC), Mexico, and she attended the Mantarraya Film Workshop in Mexico City. She is part of the collective Somos/Simios, a project in which she has worked as director, producer and director of photography in diverse music videos, such as Jewish Princess for Buried Under Stars and No quiero for El Shirota. She produced the documentary short film Santa Fe (Vida y obra); she was director of photography in the productions Solo Niños y Cancionero at the Mantarraya Film Workshop; and she was an editor of the interview section for the program Vogue Who’s On Next México 2016. Her thesis, the short film Microcastillo, is part of the Official Selection of the 14th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). She is currently working on the feature film La llave del desierto by César Ortiz. Other Movies Mexico will no longer exist! Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. As a teenager, Ziuta weathered exile with fortitude and determination, saving her mother and other relatives from perishing in their flight. With a Super-8 camera that once belonged to his father and has remained untouched for 41 years, he plans to retrace the path of the shepherd: the journey of transhumance that his grandfather undertook in his youth, following now-forgotten coordinates. The result is a film that delights in the search —as well as the many detours along the way.
