Villa, Jaime

He graduated from the Arte 7 Film School in Mexico City. His short films No oyes ladrar a los perros (2004) and La sonrisa (2005) won the Sonora State Fund for Culture and Arts. In 2009 he presented El color de la oscuridad, and in 2012 Los viejos del mezcal; a production which was selected at the TRAVELLING Festival, at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG) and at the Festival Internacional de Cine en el Desierto, all of them in Mexico. He has taught at the Sonora Institute of Technology, at the La Salle University, at the Sonora Colegio de Bachilleres and at the Sonora Institute of Culture. In 2015, he received the Fund for Quality Film Production for the making of his documentary feature film Los niños de la cruz, part of the Official Selection of the 14th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM).
