Antonia Sofía Silva Alvarado is a Mexican filmmaker and animator specialized in stop motion. She graduated from the National School of Cinematic Arts [ENAC, by its acronym in Spanish, Escuela Nacional de Artes Cinematográficas] at the National Autonomous University of Mexico [UNAM, by its acronym in Spanish, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México]. Her professional career has focused primarily on independent film animation through collaborations on various short films that have received national and international recognition.
Her professional experience includes work as an animator on the television series Mujeres con hombreras [Women Wearing Shoulder Pads] (2025), produced by Adult Swim and Cinema Fantasma; and on the feature film Soy Frankelda [I Am Frankelda] (2025), by Cinema Fantasma and HBO Max. Recently, she received the Jenkins-Del Toro Scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Art in London and continue developing her art in the field of animation.
She has been selected for the Young Creators Program of the System of Support for Creation and Cultural Projects and for Talents Guadalajara at the Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG). She also served as a young juror at film events such as the 34th edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival, Black Canvas Contemporary Film Festival, and Cinegro Festival.
