Rivera Kohn, Diego

He studied film production at Concordia University in Montreal. He has participated in four editions of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM): at the 3rd FICM with Voces de Guerrero (2004); at the 4th FICM with Mekanizeim (2006); at the 6th FICM with Ex-voto para tres ánimas (2008); and at the 10th FICM with Temporada Seca (2012), winner of the Golden Frog Award at the 16th Camerimage International Film Festival in Poland and the Abrazo award for Best Short Film at the 21st Biarritz Latin America Film Festival.

¡Aoquic iez in Mexico! ¡Ya México no existirá más!

A frenetic view runs over a convulsed Mexico City, a colossal metropolis sustained by the myth of "mestizaje" and other colonial forms of violence. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. This is an erratic film that invites us to reimagine the complex relationship we have with the constructed “mexicanidad.”
