He received the Young Creators Grant in 2010 from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA), Mexico. He participated in the 4th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) and the 3rd Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes de Temática Social Només per a Curts (Sólo para Cortos), Barcelona, with his short fiction film Refugio… de aquí a ninguna parte (2005); winner of the Best Director Award at the 8th Crystal Screen Festival in Mexico City. His film 7 veces 7 (2012) won the Best Screenwriting Award at the 1st Feratum International Festival of Fantastic, Terror and Science Fiction Films in Tlalpujahua, Mexico.
