He won a Special Mention at the 6th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) for his documentary short film Nosotros hablamos la lengua completa (Nej Ñuj Si Amin Nanj Nïïn). The film also participated in the 1stInternational Film Festival on Human Rights in Mexico (DHFest); the 6th Documenta International Madrid Documentary Film Festival, Spain; and the 2nd Cinemaztlán Mexican Film Festival, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
