Image Pérez Montfort, Ricardo He received his Ph.D in history from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He participated in the 4th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) with his feature-length documentary Voces de Chinantla (2006), produced by the Center for Research and Advanced Studies in Social Anthropology (CIESAS, in Spanish), the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) and the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA). His documentary won the First Prize in the category of Identity and Gender at the 1st Iberoamerican Documentary Film Festival of Memory (FMDI, in spanish), Tepoztlán, and a Honorary Mention for the Fray Bernardino de Sahagún Prize 2008 in the category of Dissemination, given by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).
