Image Ojeda; Nayelli Animation, Direction, Production Nayelli Ojeda is a Mexican film director, producer, and animator specialized in stop motion. She holds a Master’s degree in Animation and Digital Art from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education [ITESM, by its acronym in Spanish, Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey]. In 2016, she founded Wisdom House Films, a studio where she has had the opportunity to develop animation projects. Her short film Yugen is the result of eight years of relentless development and production, combining stop motion with ceramics and natural materials such as Oaxacan clay, fibers, corn husks, cactus, ixtle, and wood. This project received the Animation Short Film Production Support from the Mexican Film Institute [IMCINE, by its acronym in Spanish, Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía] and, in 2021, was selected as a global finalist at the ANIMARKT Stop Motion Forum in Poland.In addition to this, Yugen won the Best Animated Short Award at the 2026 Manchester Film Festival—a British Academy Film Awards-qualifying festival. Later, it took part in the Short Film Corner | Rendez-vous Industry during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. The short film has also been featured in other international film festival circuits and, in 2026, became part of the Official Selection of the 24th Morelia International Film Festival, competing in the Mexican Animated Short Film category.Her professional career is distinguished by the integration of artisanal techniques and contemporary animation languages in order to create stories rooted in Mexican and Latin American culture.
