Image López Barrera; Arturo "Pio" Arturo López "Pío" is a Mexican visual artist and puppeteer. Across a professional career of more than thirty years, he has created projects that combine plastic arts, puppetry, cinema, and performing arts. His artistic training has been connected with artists such as Gilberto Aceves Navarro, Enrique Garnica, and Patricio Guzmán. In 2003, together with Julieta Tabbush, he began the development of CINEMANO—a project of pictorial and performative experimentation that creates visual narratives in real time through drawings, paintings, and large-scale projections. The technique incorporates elements including ink, sand, water, oil, objects, and articulated flat puppets, turning the creative process into part of the performance.With CINEMANO, he has had the opportunity to perform in venues such as Palacio de Bellas Artes, Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza Iris, and Sala Nezahualcóyotl. He has also presented his work in countries like Japan, China, South Korea, Austria, Spain, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Argentina, and the United States.
