He studied at Universidad de Medios Audiovisuales (CAAV) in Guadalajara, Jalisco. At the CAAV, he met Gerardo Romero, another film enthusiast, and together they built a strong friendship and a creative collaboration. Together with a couple of friends, they decided to found a production company called Zombie Films with the aim of carrying out their own film projects. His first significant achievement in the film world was the short film titled Oclayo, which won first place in the 2021 edition of the Ten Scary Seconds Horror Short Film Competition. Carlos Hinojosa and Gerardo Romero embarked on a new film project entitled Los Ojos de Doña Lucy, which became an important part of their academic thesis.
