He won First Place in the 2nd “Caminos de la Libertad” contest of the Grupo Salinas for Color y libertad (2010); and Third Place in the 2nd A Minute for Human Rights, Mexico, contest for Todos somos iguales (2010). He won the award for Best Work of the Michoacán Section at the 9th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) for his short documentary Cuanajillo: La historia sin agua (2011).
