His short documentary Dulce convivencia (2005) was part of the 4th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM) and the 18th Toulouse Latin American Film Festival, among others. It won the Best Native Documentary Award at the International Cherokee Film Festival 2006, Tahlequah, Oklahoma; the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the 11th International Film Festival for Children (…and not so children), “La Matatena,” Mexico City; and Best Work at the 8th Raíz de la Imagen International Festival of Indigenous Film and Video, Oaxaca.
