He participated with his first feature film Niño Fidencio de Roma a Espinazo (2008) in the 6th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM); in the 3rd International Documentary Film Festival of Mexico City (DocsDF, in Spanish); in the 30th Festival International Festival of New Latin American Film, Havana, Cuba; and in the 15th Cinesul, the Iberoamerican Festival of Film and Video, Río de Janeiro, Brazil, among others. He obtained for this work a Special Jury Mention at the 23rd Monterrey International Film Festival (FIC Monterrey) and four awards at the 10th Silver Screen Festival, Mexico City: Best Feature Length Documentary, Best Direction, Best Screenplay for Curry Fernández and Best Post-Production for Martín Bautista.
