Estrada García; Héctor Alexis

He studied communication at the Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo (UNID) in Morelia, Michoacán. He has worked in various film projects and has made several short films with his independent company HDR Films. He won the Best Photography award for the short film Vida (2012) by Ricardo Mulhia at the 2nd Short Shorts Film Festival Toluca (SSFFM). He participated as director of photography, editor and director’s assistant in Historias (2014) by Ana Ireri Campos Estrada, winner of the Best Mexican Short Film Award at the 12th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM). His short film Donde nunca morirás (2015) was part of the Official Selection of the 13th FICM.

¡Aoquic iez in Mexico! ¡Ya México no existirá más!

A frenetic view runs over a convulsed Mexico City, a colossal metropolis sustained by the myth of "mestizaje" and other colonial forms of violence. Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. This is an erratic film that invites us to reimagine the complex relationship we have with the constructed “mexicanidad.”
