Image Díaz de León Hicks; Pablo Animation, Direction, Script Pablo Díaz de León Hicks is a Mexican filmmaker and animation director. He is currently working as an artist at Netflix Animation Studios. He holds a Master’s degree in Animation from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Cinematic Arts, where he wrote, directed, and animated his thesis film Blooky: The Book Who Wanted to Be Read (2026). This short film was shortlisted for the BAFTA Student Awards, nominated for the Student Emmy Award, featured at the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival, and presented at the Palm Spring Short Film Festival, San Diego Comic Convention (Comic-Con), and the Guadalajara International Film Festival.Throughout his professional career, he has collaborated with studios such as Proof Inc., taken part in productions like Stranger Things 5 and TRON: Ares, as well as in projects by Technicolor Creative Studios, Mighty Animation, and Microsoft Research. In addition to this, he was awarded the Jenkins-Del Toro Scholarship and the John Huston Scholarship for Directing from the USC.
