His short film Takei Kna: La última fiesta de un Kumiai (2010) won the Best Film Award at the 1st International Festival of Indigenous Film and Video (FICVI, in Spanish), Puebla; Third Place at the Indigenous Film and Video Festival (FECVI, in Spanish), Morelia; and Best Baja California Documentary at the 2nd UABC International Film Festival, Mexico. He received the State Program - Incentives for Creation and Artistic Development Grant (PECDA, in Spanish) from the Baja California Cultural Institute (ICBC, in Spanish) from 2011 to 2012, in the category of Film and Video for the feature film Jalmá (2012), which participated in the 10th Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), among other festivals.
