Otto, an old film actor, refuses to adapt to the changes in the industry where there is no longer a place for long rehearsals. Understanding the psychology of the character matters little when one hour lost is equal to 10,000 euros. As a result of the complaints of screenwriters and producers, Otto is replaced in a film by a much younger actor. This comedy has been acclaimed for its ironic analysis of what it is like to become old in our time.

Gundermann

He wants to be a good worker, a great husband, a caring father, an artist, a clown, and a politician—all at the same time. Folk singer and songwriter Gerhard Gundermann is both hero and anti-hero, a constant contradiction, a glittering figure typical of the former East Germany—and yet he isn’t. People like him are everywhere. And they offend others everywhere.
