The delegate is the only legal authority in San Juan de la Vega. José loves detonating dangerous “thunder” with his gang. Saúl is a devotee of San Juanito and has been organizing the carnival for decades. All represent different—contrasting—stances of ancient tradition. But they will need to work together for the sake of the saint and the people’s safety.
