After one of their shoplifting sessions, Osamu and his son find a little girl alone in the cold. At first reluctant to shelter the girl, Osamu’s wife agrees to take care of her after learning of the hardships she faces. Despite the family’s poverty, surviving through petty thefts, they seem to live happily together—until an incident brutally reveals their most terrible secrets.
