In 1915, a contractor travels to Posadas in search of new employees. In the world of missionary yerba mate plantations, the unscrupulous foreman discovers that a farm laborer has fallen in love with the village doctor’s daughter, unleashing a personal vendetta against him. The tension grows and the violent repercussions become irreversible.

Past and present weave a flurry of images; fragmented memories of this land. Ancient deities are incarnated, while dreams overlap among intimacy, complicity and the tumult. This is an erratic film that invites us to reimagine the complex relationship we have with the constructed “mexicanidad.”
